"Over the years I have maintained a wide range of work in international trade, including shipping, insurance, (marine, non marine and reinsurance) commodity trading, and trade finance, as well as fraud and asset tracing, and in general commercial litigation".

Robert McCunn initially specialized in marine insurance (see e.g. LIA v Mosse 1977) and shipping (see “Adolf Warski” and “Sniadecki” 1976) , then extended his practice to include oil trading (see e.g. Sun International v Bulk Oil, ORIENT PRINCE (1985), NOEL BAY (1989). In 1985, he took on the Brink’s Mat recovery to recover the proceeds of the Brinks Mat bullion robbery at Heathrow. This led to a specialization in fraud and asset tracing, and related subjects (see for example Papamichael v Nat. West Bank, recovery of “lost” Dali painting stolen in 1975, recovery of assets from fraudulent bank employee, major “prime bank guarantee” fraud dispute, recovery action following forgery and false accounting by company director, and dispute over purchase of substantial modern art collection.) He was also for a number of years a non executive director of two Goldman Sachs subsidiaries involved in oil trading and transportation. Robert has since then set up his own practice, with Cyrus Siassi and Michel Bussard, and in association with Thomas Miller Law Ltd, England.

Michel obtained his Law Degree at the University of Fribourg in 1997 and his Attorney license at the bar of Geneva in 2000. He then acquired 6 years of legal experience working at KPMG. In the next 14 years, Michel Bussard partnered among two renowned Geneva Law firms (Briner & Brunisholz and DGE Avocats). Over his career, Michel handled complex cases of group restructuring, tax litigation with Swiss Supreme Court and Swiss Federal Administrative Tribunal (VAT issues, Federal Direct Tax, valuations of companies) and procedures involving shareholders based in various continents. Michel also occupies mandates of company director and trustee, mainly for foreign groups having interests in Switzerland. Michel maintains long-terms relationships with his clients, following-up the corporate needs of small and big corporations (tax assistance, compliance duties, debt collection, contract review and drafting, representation in front of authorities, mergers, liquidations, etc.). Michel also has experience in the fields of real estate (acquisition of private and commercial properties, leases, forced sales), financial audits, cooperation agreements between local and foreign companies, tax advice, tax ruling requests and Labour law. In assisting an important number of companies in their day-to-day needs, Michel has acquired good tactical experience and advises his clients accordingly. In 2018, he obtained a C.A.S in Corporate Tax Law. Michel has now joined Cyrus SIASSI and Robert McCUNN as a Partner at SIASSI McCUNN BUSSARD.
